A quick test shot I took of one of our dear friends' kids this weekend during a dinner get-together. I thought I'd try a bit of a different approach this time. I have used this background color before and I meant to change it, but I couldn't get the other ones out of my disorganized closet fast enough!

And, after suggestions from many of you (thank you!), I am finally adding a category called "Portraits" to this blog. I need to go through the MT entries and re-categorize many of them, and I promise that will happen in the coming weeks.

Oh, and FINALLY, there is a gallery of the inauguration photos right here.

I showed the girls these pictures and Olivia and Emma are so mad that there are no pictures of them by themselves. So we will be over for a photo shoot soon. Nothing like a little sibling rivalry to get the girls in front of the camera - especially after being dubbed "Anna, photo of the day"! And why won't our kids smile like this for us????

Wow! I love this shot; what a terrific portrait. I think it's something about the color tone here and the way her eyes aren't quite looking at the camera.
