I was down at the river last weekend just after they dyed it green for St. Patrick's Day. I actually saw part of the parade for the first time in years! I don't think I have any great shots of it, but perhaps I'll post one of those next week. Nobody celebrates St. Patrick's day like they do in Chicago... I was actually in L.A. on Monday (which was actually the holiday), and the celebrations there were not anything like they are in Chicago.

A fascinating thing about this shot is that it was taken from exactly the same vantage point as a shot I took two years ago, which you can see here. That is Trump Tower that has gone up nearly 60 stories right smack in the middle of that beautiful skyline. It still has another 30+ stories to go. I am not a fan of that building at all. This is by far my favorite view of the city, but it changes every day as you can see.

remember'd the similar shot! St patricks day is celebrated much more in the USA than in England.

Dyed the river green. This is first I have heard. What did they do? Poured a lot of green colour in it? If so is it not harmful?

Nice shot, HDR? Reminds me of that line from The Fugitive: "If they can dye the river green one day a year, why can't they dye it blue the other 364 days?"
