So Shanghai, the city with the magnificent skyline and water views, is completely fogged in. It was difficult to land yesterday on the plane and there were many delays. I'm staying at the Grand Hyatt, the tallest hotel in the world tonight, where I am waiting for my flight back to Chicago tomorrow. I was very much looking forward to looking out the window up on the 86th floor, but I can't see anything!!! Otherwise, though, this hotel is just fantastic.
However, as you can see, there is an inner atrium. It is dizzying in height and just huge. It is so high up here that you have to look nearly straight own over the edge in order to see the bottom, which is a lounge floor. I have never seen anything like it. I held on tightly to my camera as I dangled it over the edge of the railing to take this shot... This is the part of the atrium just outside of my room. Unbelievable.

There are two more posts that I put up tonight, so be sure to click "Previous"!

I spent a lot of time in Shanghai in the early 80's. At that time the city was just beginning to see the future but I am sure it did not see all that has happened

Awesome Mike, wish I was there.
