Another shot from the Africa exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo during the Zoolights festival. The great thing about going to the zoo at night during an event like this is that it really isn't very crowded (at least not this early in the holiday season). So I was able to camp out in front of this fish tank and had plenty of time to ensure that there were no stray reflections from the crowd, no smears on the glass, etc. It really is an amazing set of tanks that they have there, and you would think with these past few pics that I was at the Shedd Aquarium or something.

I definitely enjoy underwater-type photography, and I wish I was in a climate where I could do more of that. Since there's no way that i would drop six figures on an underwater housing and lights, I am thinking about getting one of those point-and-shoot cameras with underwater capability. I think Olympus or Casio makes them. If anyone has any thoughts on those, I would appreciate it if you could pass those on to me!

Finally, I feel like a schmuck for not mentioning this a few days ago. The very talented Justin Gaynor of recently put up a holiday photoblog that will put up daily postings from various photographers interpreting the holiday season. The photoblog is here at I was fortunate enough to get a posting a few days ago, and the photo is posted here.
