Starting with yesterday's shot, I think this is going to be "Blur" week on MikesRightBrain! As one recent magazine put it, I need to spend more time "embracing the blur" and realizing that the abstractness of a blurred image can sometimes communicate more than a razor-sharp one. I spend so much time ensuring that my subject is as tack-sharp as possible (especially in portraits) that it feels breezily relaxed to purposefully blur an image. It causes you to capture the moment and the mood more than the subject itself. Given that we have had an amazing few days of warm weather and a change of seasons is around the corner, it felt right to take a bit of a different turn this week! These are kids playing ball down at the State Chess Championship on Sunday... they were hilarious to watch.

I think it's time for me to clean my glasses and my monitor... or quite drinking so much wine with dinner :)
I'm looking forward to Blur Week.
