This is a shot of an apartment building taken while standing on a balcony in the lobby of the Conrad Hotel in Miami. The balcony faces this building and frames it quite nicely. Rather than try to get the entire building in view with a wide-angle lens, which I could have done, I thought this view was more interesting. The number of huge hi-rises like this in Miami is staggering. I wonder who lives in all of these places...

My brother, retired, Ashoka worker and his wife live in a building just like this in Key Biscayne. It's a sanctuary of calm high above that gorgeous ocean.

This looks like a great place to be.

While I like this picture and I think it's an interesting image -- I will say this: if I lived in that building, with my fear of heights, I'd have a hard time looking down!

Wow. This is my home. Miami, that is. Having moved to Orlando, I miss these scenes horribly. Yet, I'm saddened that THIS is Miami. This is not the Miami I grew up with. It's all highrise condos (and apartments) now. But to get those high-rises they had to remove pieces of Miami that had the true culture and interest. A shame.

Beautiful shot.

ah, how I miss Miami! (I moved to Atlanta four months ago)

Miami has undergone a HUGE housing boom, the downtown area is a forest of cranes.

but oh so beautiful this is..
