This morning, I learned of a great loss to the photoblog community. My friend, Lynn Rockwell, lost her battle with cancer this weekend. Lynn was a true inspiration to me from the earliest days of MRB, where her comments and encouragement made me realize that this project was worthwhile. Lynn's photoblog, Focus on Photography and her personal blog here documented her daily life up in Canada. Lynn posted her last picture on January 28th. Bob Foss wrote an eloquent tribute to Lynn on photoblogs.org. One of Lynn's goals during treatment was to come and visit Chicago. This posting is dedicated to her. Thanks, Lynn, for everything.

My first thought was: W.O.W, what an amazingly unusual shot. And then I read the text about Lynn and I am deeply touched.

Very nice tribute to Lynn, Mike. I too looked at this photograph and was WOWed. Reading your entry makes this image very fitting.
