Local 5K and 10K races abound in this city. During the spring, summer and fall, there are races that are held in the Lincoln Park area virtually every Thursday through Sunday. Some of the races are very popular and include thousands of runners. Many of them are also very well-organized, using electronic chip timing and multiple-spot photography. So if you are a runner around here and you like to race, you have many options. Sometimes on my way home from work I'll see a race about to start and will just sign up and run it right there! Personally, I tend to pick races based on how good the post-race food is. This is the scene before the 5K "Lung Run" held a few weekends ago on the southern end of Lincoln Park. This race was a relatively small one; probably only about 300 people participated.
