... and now for something completely different. This is a shot of a huge fishing pier on Topsail Island, just next to Surf City. This pier has been rebuilt dozens of times because the hurricanes that come through here tend to feast on it regularly. The owners charge a few bucks for people to dangle their fishing poles from the front end. The sky is blown much more than I would have liked for a shot like this, but on the overcast day that it was there was really no way around it.

** You may have noticed that the archived shots are mis-aligned with the old template. I am still in the long and tedious process of up-rezzing all 320 of the previous MRB shots. Once those are all done I'll be able to upgrade the entire site. Right now it's only the homepage that uses the new template. Thanks for your patience as I continue the upgrades to the site.

Fantastic shot Mike. The sky is a little blown out, but I like how the exposure captures the movement of the waves.

I like the ghostly waves and the composition. Must be very scary and photogenic after dark.

I can hear the waves and feel the energy that is in this image!

Awesom shot. The mist towards the end of the pier is lovely and the slow shutter speed has made the water look great

WOW. This is really beautiful, Mike! it has a dreamlike quality to it that I'm always drawn to. I actually like the way the sky adds to the mysterious feeling with the image fading into the background.
