My oldest son had his "half-birthday" party last week in his school classroom. For those of you who may not know, a half-birthday is usually celebrated by kids whose actual birthdays fall sometime during the summer. This way they don't miss out on the opportunity to have cake at school. (I don't remember ever celebrating these when I was a kid). Since the school year is close to ending, I hear that they are cramming half-birthdays in practically every day!

I had never heard of celebrating half birthdays at school. Although, my aunt used to do something fun to spoil us on our half birthdays.

I love this shot. It looks like someone has already taken a bite out of the cupcake.

I remember one year in elementary school celebrating the birthdays of the summer babies before break. We didn't call it anything special, though; and it was just that one year. Any excuse for cake is good for me!

Love his smile!
