Here's another shot from the Lincoln Memorial looking out over the mall to the Washington Monument. It is a stunning view and this was one of the trickiest exposures from the whole trip. I really wanted to move that black sign on the right side out of the picture, but the marshalls were already mad at me so I didn't want to push my luck. There's nothing like leaving a huge piece of electronics (my camera) on the floor with a big light flashing on it. It had clearly entered their minds that this might be some kind of bomb. Anyway, now that I look at it, in my opinion I think the sign adds an element of scale to the picture, so I like it there now.

Looks like a very difficult exposure. The sign does add to the scale. Those are some pillars. I like the light on the monument forming a pyrmid and you even have colour in the sky. fantastic job on this one.

Really like this shot. So quiet. So peaceful without all the crowds. So much like an altar in the distance.

I really like this image with its wonderful lighting. There is something mysterious about it and the black sign only adds to that effect. (Your story about the guard made me smile.)
