Here's another shot from the Akira fashion show. Expanding a bit on my blathering on yesterday's shot, the lighting conditions in here were just awful. What I should have done is rented some radio-controlled strobes and mount them on the ceiling to get more consistent shots. I hear they do that at the NCAA basketball games. I like the way today's and yesterday's images turned out, but I did not like the results on several others where there just wasn't enough surrounding light. Oh well, next time.

On another note, I'm having a blast shooting for Scene From My Life. It's been challenging posting twice a day. Thanks for visiting!

Mike, this shot is fantastic. I like the motion blur because it gives the photo "life".. I like the ambiguity of seeing the model from behind. And the facial expressions of the onlookers are priceless. There is just a great mood and feeling of movement here.

What i like best about this is the cute girl foreground. With some digital magic her face is brought out a bit, and while I think a better shot would be just her as the main focus looking up at a model whispy in the blurry background, this is cool too. The real story here, i think, is this beautiful girl who's probably really smart, successful (attending this show cost something) wearing some great clothes already looking up at this nothing model probably thinking "man, i wish i were her!".. oblivious to the superior life she already has. although I'm sure she remembered how luck she is a few minutes later, but the moment is, i think, reaction to the model, not model herself.
