Here's what was a throwaway shot of our little friend Z at her birthday party. I wasn't thrilled with this shot at first, but it has grown on me.

News from MikesRightBrain: There's another MRB pic up today on the local NPR website.

Nice shallow dof here! Love the little hand and the colors!

Congrats on being on the NPR again!

I like the DOF of this!!! Gonna check out the NPR site in a bit!

Great use of colours and DOF. Nice work!

I feel the ball represents out search for ourselves... and the hole its going in to is a hole. And this cute girl is helping us find ourselves while we're in a hole, with her means for finding us, her hands, clearly in focus, but the origin of those means, her arm, body, out of focus with the dof... its a semaphore for the constant struggle against pants that are too tight.

plus, the ball is orange, which is a homily for the sun and that can only mean 3 things.

Whoa Forest that was far out ;-)
I really liked this shot also after I gave it a moment or two.

I can see why the picture grows on you- it has a sense of putting the viewer into the scene in a way I can't describe. Really, though, I'm glad to have viewed it just for the fact of being able to read Forest's philosophy of it all :)
