Nikon D2X

Capture Date/Time: February 26, 2006 10:52
Focal Length: 24 mm
Aperture/Shutter Speed: F/11 - 1/100 sec
ISO: 100
Flash: None

During one of the chess tournament breaks, I wandered around Navy Pier and found a few other shots away from the action. When I opened up this one yesterday evening, I realized two things. One, the crisp weather was really beautiful last weekend. Two, the sensor on my camera is ridiculously filthy. I spent quite a bit of time removing horrendous dust spots (and two hairs!!!) from this image. This reminded me of the old darkroom days when you'd get huge marks on the paper from dust on the negative in the Beseler. Anyway, after an hour of cleaning my sensor, mirror and bayonet, all is well with the world.

Well, you did a great clean up job. It looks great! Navey Pier has so many photo opportunities. You have perfect skies!

Beautiful blue sky! I'm looking forward to doing my first carnival ride shots this summer! Great job on cleaning the sensor, I haven't attempted that yet either!

Great shot Mike. Excellent framing, and the sky looks great against the ferris wheel and the clouds.

Great shot Mike, ... wonderful contrast of the red against the blue sky. (I didn't read the other comments, so I'm no doubt repeating them)

Thecontrast between the red of the bogeys and the blue of the sky is simply amazing

Perhaps we should post some uncleaned shots to compare the muck. we could have dirtiest sensor prize, (only as I would win). Classic wheel shot the red against the blue is good.

03.07.06, 10:12 PM, Tai:

Compositionally, this is excellent. Though, I might have liked to see a bit more of the sky...

03.08.06, 11:20 AM, Alicia:

Beautiful. The perspective and colors are popping. That reminds me, I still haven't cleaned my sensor yet. Any tips?

I can't keep mine clean anymore, terrible design if you ask me. I bought the kit from the fellow on P-base, works fine just takes time.
