Another shot of the State Chess Tournament from a high vantage point. I was trying to capture more of the movement and action around the tables, and I'm not sure that I was able to do that as well as I had hoped. But the interesting thing about this tournament is that they let the parents mill about right around the tables rather than being somewhat removed from them. This creates extra pressure on the kids, I think, but at the same time it allows us to see the fascinating action that takes place. Most other tournaments have the kids playing by themselves in a separate room completely roped off from the parents.

Good for me, and nice capture of the movement. I reminds me Harry Potter...don't know why.

I quite like the motion blur. Though I wonder if this would have looked even better in black and white.

For me, I love the color's treatments. For B&W I would see more nearer shot.

nice day

Not my favorite picture of yours but it is intersting to see how such a tournament is played. Quite a lot of movement. It must be hard for the kids to concentrate !

I love the mix of colors. It reminds me of some of your parade shots.

this is cool - what't the blur thing you've got going on here?

Love your chess tournament photos. So, you carry a tripod too?
