I can't thank everyone enough for the warm comments and emails from the past few days. Thank you. Your kind words have been very comforting. I am looking forward to visiting everyone's blogs again; I am very behind in that department, as I am in keeping MRB up and running. I think I'm back up to speed now.

Well, despite everything that happened last week, we decided to go ahead with a planned gingerbread-house-building party for my oldest. It was very helpful in keeping everyone's chin up through all of this, especially mine. I must say it was a huge mess, but we do it every year and some of the creations that come out of it are quite stunning. The kids, as well, clearly have a great time.

Glad things are coming back together for you Mike. Great picture of one of the great fun activities for the holidays. I remember how messy those things can get.

Great photo, especially with the out of focus kid in the background. The house looks delicious by the wya.

Great picture, Mike! Glad to see things are beginning to head back to normal again, eventhough it doesn't feel right. Still thinking about you! I hope moving forward like this helps!

We do the same here and I must say that you have there a spectacular house. The eight year old gingerbread expert here agrees.

Very lovely shot. It's all about keeping the family spirits alive, I'm glad you went ahead with this for the children's sake.

PS - our babysitter surprised our girls and they did a gingerbread house weeks ago, so Jon & I got to forgo the mess this year :)
