I think I'll take a break from the NYC pictures for awhile! Here we are back in Chicago. Last night we had quite a snowstorm that dumped over 10 inches of the white stuff on the city. The plows had a very hard time keeping up, so it was quite an adventure getting to work this morning. I passed this old multi-unit landmark mansion on Astor Street in Chicago's Gold Coast community on the way in. Here's an interesting tidbit about this building: Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins lives here.

What a beautiful gate!!!, and the image really sets the mood for mint-chocolate ;0)

uh... ok. I show my age in my ignorance. Heard the band name before and that's about it. Nice Christmas picture.

... and now we're getting "dumped-on" :)

Great shot, so festive, and the centreing works so well. :)

The gate to enter "snow land" ?

It's very Christmasy and the symmetry is nice.

What a beautiful gate.. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Good framing.

The gate, wreaths and snow combined just scream Christmas.

whoa! did you say Billy Corgan? my god, i've been looking for that man for years, hehe! the picture feels cold enough.

Looks quite exclusive. I love snow on iron. It always looks so Victorian to me.

A very seasonal shot, I really must get out there and get snapping before it's all over. The shot looks a little under saturated on my monitor, I might have been tempted to add a little more saturation to bring out the green wreath and the red in the ribbons.

the gates to santas mansion. great alignment on this, even straight lines - which is difficult to do often.

I love adventures.
How did u find his house- that's pretty cool. A nice house too. Reminds me of the gates to willy wonkas choc factory (original film)
