We visited the opening gala for the University of Maryland Alumni Center in College Park, MD a couple of months ago. The new center is very impressive, and the central rotunda of the building includes a curved wall with the names of distinguished alumni donors carved into it. It took me awhile to notice, but the letter carving actually wasn't completely finished at the time of the gala, so as you can see some of the names are actually carved and some are painted onto the wall. The rotunda wall was illuminated by party lights, hence the tone of the image.

I don't know how long I could stay in a room this color! I wondered why some of the letters look so flat and two dimensional.

what a cool shot! I like the green. The difference between what is painted on and what is actually engraved is fun to study!

The color cast gives it a slightly eerie feel. Looks nice.

A real great perspective! I am not too keen on the greenish tone though I have to say...
