We hung out in a suburban tavern last Friday night after seeing a dear friend in a local play. I didn't get any decent shots of the performance, but I was pleased with some of the shots taken at this tavern. They had an old wooden bar with large, very well-lit liquor shelves. The exposures were tricky there, but this is one of my favorites from that evening, other than an obscene tattoo that I managed to capture (but is inappropriate for posting here!)

Our lives were running parallel . We did exactly the same: drinks at a nice bar, then off to see Cabaret - which was excellent but too long for a 10 pm start time. The shelves look great here - can't wait to see more of them. I think you should post the tattoo, too.

I really like this shot. The silhouette combined with the bottles behind the bar works so well together. I'd like to see the tattoo shot.

Great background. And Perfect timing to get them nose to nose like that . A cracking shot all round.

Great silhouettes against an awesome background. I would like to see the tattoo shot too.

Love the negative space here and the blurred lit background. Great shot.

interesting shot, Mike. I was wondering your position here or did you just zoom them? This is indeed a nice silhouette...the profile of their faces is very distinct and clear. The background added a nice touch too.

Silouette photography is always interesting.

Excellent!

Very nice shot Mike. Seems everyone wants to see the tat but only you can decide if it is too much for this site. I suppose you could email it to those who ask. I suppose if someone is wearing it in public, it can't be TOO bad right?

Thanks for the comments, everyone. To all of you who asked, I will email you the tat. I thought it was kind of inappropriate for me to take the picture of it, and besides that it was a really lousy picture!

The dark and almost silhouetted profiles against the brighter background make this an intimate and dynamic shot. --- No obscene tattoo :(
