The El Platform at Van Buren and the Library right before dusk last Friday night. This station, which was right in the loop, seemed surprisingly quiet in the middle of the rush hour. Anyway, I never noticed the neat archwork over the tracks. This really isn't a "station" per se; it's just a platform stop for the elevated train that sits between two tall buildings.

whoa! another metro train shot. mike, aside from the shoe thing, i think i'm enamored with photo like this. there's this certain melancholia that this kind of shot gives me, that is, given the right angle and the right contrast...

i believe david kapp has (almost) perfected these kind of shots. i've tried it of course, but i can't make the diffusion of light right and the contrast.

Very dark and moody. The lighting at the end of the station is very nice. I'm really surprised with the emptiness of the station. The lost legs in the bottom left corner are not overly dist acting, but they don't add to the shot.

Nice shot here Mike. And good shots throughout the site. It was nice to meet you. I hope you got some good marathon shots before your batteries died.
