A scrap pile from the local recycling plant on the north side of the city. There are huge cranes here that literally fling cars onto a conveyor belt that takes them into a huge grinder. We love to take the kids here to watch the operations. Lots of dusty loud crunching sounds as cars, washing machines and other scrap get pulverized.

Too funny - I just got back from shooting at a scrap yard about twenty miles from where I live. I hope I get a few shots as cool as this, but I know I didn't get any this TALL.

Ahh, interesting, never actually seen one of these up close and personal. Great composition, love the bits of color in it...blue, red, yellow rims...green netting or fence...very color and unique photo!

You have a lot of interesting industrial type places on your site. What do they do with these cars after crushing them?

Interesting place Mike, we have a scrap yard not too far from where I live, maybe I will explore it little and see what sorts of shots I can find.

Reminds me of a funny card I saw at Hallmark. It read, "My condolences on the death of your car" :)
