Last night (or I should say early this morning) was the release of the sixth Harry Potter book. The local Borders Bookstore on Michigan Avenue was open through the night to sell these editions, and it was unbelievable how many people were at the store. I did not feel that I had to have one of these so soon, but we were just a few doors away at a restaurant for dinner so we thought we'd stop by to see what all the commotion was about. There were hundreds of people in serpentine lines weaving through the bookshelves of the upper floors. The ceilings were low so it was difficult to capture the sheer volume of people. But as soon as they released the book (right at midnight), the line started moving quite briskly. The whole place changed instantly into a sea of movement. I still didn't buy a book...
